Expert Saddle Fitter’s Overview & Fit Guide
The Fairfax Eros Monoflap XC is a high-performance cross-country and jump saddle crafted using advanced biomechanical design principles. Engineered to maximize shoulder freedom and rider balance, its sleek single-flap layout eliminates bulk beneath the leg to provide an ultra-close connection over fences and technical terrain.
Equine Fit Profile
-
Wither & Back Profile: Best suited for horses with a standard wither height and standard back line.
-
Custom Width System: Built on the versatile SimaTree design using R-Bar gullets. Width settings can be altered quickly from Narrow-Medium up to Extra-Extra-Wide as your horse develops or changes condition throughout the season.
-
Fairfax Performance Panels: Features pressure-relieving wool-flocked panels lined with shock-absorbing Prolite. The panel geometry separates the rider’s load from the horse’s scapula, allowing total freedom of movement through the shoulder and forelimb.
-
5-Position Girthing: Outfitted with five distinct girth slots, enabling your fitter to fine-tune the girthing angle and anchor the saddle securely across dynamic movement.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
General & Saddle Fit
How do Fairfax Performance Panels help my event horse?
Performance Panels feature a specialized load-bearing shape lined with Prolite padding and wool flocking. This construction isolates rider weight away from the horse’s shoulder blades, allowing full rotation of the scapula during takeoff and landing over cross-country fences.
Can I adjust the gullet width myself?
Yes! The Fairfax SimaTree system uses standard R-Bar gullets (ranging from Narrow-Medium to Extra-Extra-Wide) that can be swapped out easily using basic tools, making it simple to adapt to seasonal muscular changes.
What does “Grade 4 Condition” mean for this saddle?
Grade 4 signifies a sound, well-maintained pre-owned saddle with normal cosmetic signs of use. On Saddle ID 1023018, this includes light seat discolouration, wear on the calf blocks, and moderate flap wear from stirrup leathers.
Trials, Shipping & Returns
How does the 5-Day Saddle Trial work for US and UK buyers?
Order the saddle online to initiate your trial. Once delivered, you have 5 full days to test the fit with your qualified saddle fitter. If you decide to keep it, you’re all set! If you need to return it, contact us within 5 days for return instructions.
Do you ship internationally outside the US and UK?
Yes! We ship globally using fast, tracked express couriers. While full trial periods are limited to US mainland and UK clients due to customs processing times, international riders still enjoy major cost savings importing quality saddles through our store.
Warranty & Leather Care
What warranty comes with this pre-owned saddle?
All secondhand saddles from Premium Saddle Shop include a 6-Month Soundness Warranty covering internal tree integrity and structural soundness under fair wear and proper care.
How should I clean and care for waxed full-grain leather?
Wipe down after rides with a damp cloth to remove grit and sweat. Apply a light coat of leather balm periodically to nourish the hide and maintain its natural grip and supple texture. Avoid harsh chemical leather cleaners.
